The document titled "Catalina Island Resiliency and Restoration Strategy," authored by senior Conservancy staff in December of 2022, provides a detailed outline of the planned approach that the Conservancy intended to follow in order to eliminate the deer.

This was done with the least amount of possible feed back from our community, and from the people of California, as legal stakeholders in this decision, to register their concerns and to advocate for positive solutions.
